finding a path
this living is like a maze - you always know there is a way through, but the twists and turns become life itself... and always you want to be somewhere else
The conundrum for client and therapist alike - to find the path to walk together until their ways separate again.
Simon offers a 'walking together', as the therapist-companion, to clients and therapists alike - for individual clients or couples in the form of counselling face-to-face at Le Sentier Tranquille (separate sessions or half-days with lunch) or counselling online; for counsellor-therapists with supervision face-to-face or online; and for training groups with seminars, talks or workshops in France and the UK. As a former course director for counsellor training, a senior-accredited counsellor with over 30 years practice in a wide range of settings including primary and secondary care in the NHS, and having handled a multiplicity of client situations across all ages and backgrounds, he is able to offer insights from the broad scope of his helping and training experience.
Grounded in the person-centred approach of Carl Rogers and still seeing this as the bedrock of his philosophy of working, he prizes the insights of Martin Buber and believes that our path to a congruent way of being which brings out the person we each are, is through a true understanding of the essence of being human - how we relate to ourself, to others and to our planet.
